Jesus is Coming Back: Are You Ready?

First, the content of this article may be unfavorable to many but I am being led to write it. I have family members and friends, who I love dearly, who are living unbiblically. God is love and I believe I should love others and not judge them based on their life choices. However, this is to serve as a warning that Jesus is Coming Back soon and to be prepared.

Recently, I read an article in Tomorrow’s World which spoke to me and after praying on it I was guided to write this post highlighting the article, “Forgotten Lessons of History”.

“Forgotten Lessons of History”

News stories displays the “woke” political environment we live in today. President Biden is trying to get rights for transgendered to be accepted. Our society has accepted the LGBTQ life choices. Abortion is a big issue on the agenda as some women fight to make it legal.

Sodom and Gomorrah

In the Bible, there were two cities Sodom and Gomorrah which had become “exceedingly wicked and sinful against the Lord” (Genesis 13:13). In Genesis 19:4-5 and 19:24-28, “two angels, appearing as men, came to visit Lot. The men of Sodom surrounded Lot’s house and demanded to have sex with the two men. As a result of the behavior of the men of Sodom, the angels let Lot and his family out of the city before it was totally destroyed by fire and brimstone.  Sexual previsions weren’t the major factors in the two cities destruction “pride, luxury, idleness, neglect of the poor, and abominations” (Ezekiel 16:40-50).

How does our world today connect with Sodom and Gomorrah? “Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot-they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all-so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed” (Luke 17:28-30). Today we are seeing the acceptance of lifestyles displayed in Sodom and Gomorrah, just as it was in those days God won’t let these activities go on forever.

Greece and Rome

History classes teach Greek democracy and Roman law but rarely about what was socially acceptable in these cultures. Mythology teaches more on the life of these civilizations. In mythology and Greek/Roman life promiscuity is was clearly a part of the culture. Even Zeus (Greek) and Jupiter (Roman) sought relationships with nymphs, humans, etcetera while their Goddess wives raged with jealousy.

Prostitution was accepted, legal, and taxed bringing in financial gain to the government(s). Pedophilia was considered a normal practice and considered a “higher form” of love involving sexual and intellectual relationship between equals.  Besides prostitution and pedophilia, infanticide (the killing of children) was also widely practiced.

In this setting is where Jesus and His apostles preached the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. Christianity and the spread of biblical principles throughout these cultures elevated standards of sexual morality, halted infanticide, enhanced women status, strengthened family, and abolished gladiatorial combat in the arena.

Today’s World

Today abortion is the new infanticide, sexual immorality is accepted, and more people have lost their way. God is still here and promises if we confess and turn from our sins he will forgive us. Until we wake up, change our political leadership, and learn from the past (because history repeats itself) then our societies fate will follow the path of Sodom, Gomorrah, Greece, and Rome.

What Can You Do Today?

Get right with God. Read the bible, trust in God, believe in God, go to church, and develop a relationship with God. I pray every night for the world, the US, state, and local governments to turn toward God for guidance.
