Did you know, January 3, 2018 is Drinking Straw Day?
The Straw, a lovely invention. Can you believe I went a year of my life without using a straw. Aparently, when you have brain surgery (the went up my nose) they prohibit the use of a straw. Why? Well, because when you suck your lovely drink up a straw it builds pressure in the nose. They didn’t want the patch they put up there to come loose.
Once I was able to use a straw again I was the happiest person. Here are the reasons I love the straw.
- Helps keep teeth white. The straw can be used with all liquids like TEA. By using a straw it bypasses the teeth which prevents them from yellowing from the colored liquids. Yes, I even use it with coffee and hot chocolate (when I can).
- Prevents Diseases. Hear me out on this one. Rodents crawl around in factories and they may have crawled on your canned drink.
- More liquid less ice. The straw bypasses the ice to allow you to drink all the liquid. It also prevents the ice from hitting your teeth.
The little straw, so helpful in the time of need. I like to reuse my straws by washing them. Most are made of plastic and can be recycled.
